Jake Bailey sits in math class
Jake Bailey walks into his second period math class. He puts his stuff down and walks back out of the classroom. Laughs can be heard from the hallway as he talks to a group of his friends. Jake walks back into the classroom and sits down as the bell rings. He looks at math teacher Dru Winchester and tells everyone in the classroom to be quiet so that Winchester can talk. Jake looks at her and says, “I got your back.”
Jacob Bailey is a senior this year at Brashier and is well known for his drum playing. Although Bailey says that he does not have a band at the moment, he has been playing the drums for almost two years. Bailey says, “I want to have a music career but the military is also an option.”
Bailey has a strong interest in music and likes bands such as Deftones, Tool, Meshuggah, and Cypress Hill. Senior Kyle Cavin and Junior Sean Hackle say, “We hang out with Jake a lot and we usually talk about music or play the drums.” In his spare time Bailey says, “I like to relax and spend time with family and friends.”
Senior Newman Jackson says, “Jake is funny and nice. We usually play basketball when we are together.” Bailey is on the Varsity basketball team here at Brashier.
At school Bailey is taking Government, Algebra 2, Environmental Science, Senior Project, Art, and English 4. Bailey says that he is excited about being a senior this year because he knows it’s his last year of high school. “My favorite part about school is just seeing friends and playing basketball,” says Bailey.
Bailey thinks that people will be surprised and may not know this about him but Bailey says, “I actually DO like school.”
