Vanessa Avila

Cross Country, freshman and poetry. These are all words too familiar to Freshman Vanessa Avila. Avila ran cross country for Brashier this year and made it to regionals. “I love street football, games, sports, and I love writing poetry… My poetry comes from any everyday thing, just stuff going on,” said Avila,“but the thing I love to do most is just hang around my friends, and have fun”
“She’s really cool and I love to make her confused,” laughed Sophomore Mitch Postich, “it’s the best expression in the world.” Vanessa loves to just talk to her friends when they have problems.
“She gives really good advice and listens to what you have to say. She won’t interrupt you every other word. I like talking to her when something is wrong,” said Sophomore Kyle Stevens. “I just like hanging out and making my friends feel better when they are in a bad mood. It makes me feel better, and I know they would do the same,” Avila said with a grin on her face.
“I just met her this year, and she is a really cool, chill person,” said Sophomore Tabatha Davis with a smile across her face.
Vanessa also loves listening to music and looking up the lyrics to her favorite songs. Vanessa is an outgoing and carefree type of person. There are many people who she really respects and looks up to, but there is one in particular that she really admires.
“Jesus is the most influential person in my life. He is my role model for life, right, and wrong,” said Avila.
