Since August 3rd, Coach Greg Grabowski and the cross-country team have been practicing hard to prepare for their first meet, set for September1st, in Tamassee-Salem. “Unfortunately,” Grabowski said, “very few of last year’s runners came back. We’re having to work very hard to get our runners into shape, not to mention acclimated to the heat.”
All twenty-five runners have been working hard, running suicides, strides, long runs, short runs, intervals. “I think cross-country is a good challenge,” said Avery Raines, a sophomore. And a challenge it is. But with their first meet fast approaching, the Brashier Bengals cross-country team presses on.
