Bill Smtih has shaved his beard!

This year in the month of November Bill Smith and Mark Roberts will be participating in “No Shave November.” As a part of “Movember” the month entails shaving on the first of the month and not shaving for the rest. Smith says, “The connection is easy: All men can shave and all men can get testicular cancer.”

This is their first year of participation in this event. Roberts says, “My mom died of cancer so this is my way to fight back.”

 Smith has participated in Relay for Life for many years and is glad to be doing No Shave November. Smith says, “Two of my uncles died from cancer that started in their prostates.”

 Smith says, “This month, as every month for me, is about teaching kids and others something that they are not familiar with.  In this case that many of the kids in my classes will wind up with prostate and/ or testicular cancer.  The statistics are there, unfortunately.”
