Mr. Roberts is a new History, Government, and Economics teacher here at Brashier. When asked what he enjoys most about the subjects he teaches, he replied, “[They] give us the chance to look at things from different perspectives and learn from others’ points of view.” This is his first year teaching full time at Brashier, but, prior to this, he taught as a substitute.

Mr. Roberts grew up in Vermont and in New Hampshire. He said that after his freshman year of high school, his English teacher told him that she was disappointed in him for grades and his overall behavior. He was devastated.  “It changed my life,” he says. He went on to graduate from Bob Jones University. After that, he taught school for three years and then went on to law school for a year. He then spent twenty years in the business world, working for a total of four different manufacturing companies doing Purchasing and Sourcing.

Aside from that, Mr. Roberts loves Snow Crab legs and painting with watercolors. He also enjoys soccer, basketball, cycling, Frisbee golf, golf, and running in marathons. His favorite movie is Memento, “a movie that makes you think and is uniquely and cleverly made.” He can’t decide between his favorite bands, Collective Soul, U2, and the Dandy Warhols.

A bit of advice that Mr. Roberts would give is “dream big dreams, set goals to get there ,and then proceed in a slow and steady manner, like a snail and a turtle – keep going, don’t burn-out!”
