“I’m going to make it; I’m going to ma… (Rriiiiinnnnnnggggggg)… Darn it I’m late again. Now I’m going to have Saturday School,” thought a student as he tried to make it to school on time.

Administrative Assistant Kathy Forbes says she sees an average of, “15 to 20 students who come in to school late every day. The most students who I have had come in late on a bad day was about 40 students.”

Senior Amber Jennings explains her chronic tardiness this way, “Working and not really caring about not getting to school on time because I’m tired. I have been late to school twenty-one times this semester.”

Some students say they oversleep because they worked late the night before or they had a lot of homework. Others just don’t care about being on time.

“Because I don’t give a crap,” said Eli Cook. Some students just could care less about getting to school on time. Students who are late should realize that there are consequences for being late. You can get Saturday school, and then if you don’t go to Saturday school, you get a referral.
