The juniors ordered their rings in November from Herff Jones. The Junior Class Ring Creemony was held at the TRC Building at Greenville Tech Barton Campus. Other speakers at the ceremony included Abby Jones, who spoke on the heritage of the class ring, Shamund Peters, telling how to wear your class ring with pride, and Harold Waters, a Herff Jones representative. Director of Operations, Sandy Brigmon, presented the juniors with their rings, and Principal, Mike Sinclair, did the dedication of the rings. Brooke Ingram closed the ceremony and light refreshments followed. Family and friends enjoyed snacks while classmates admired each others rings. The ceremony will not soon be forgotten by the juniors. Sabian Clark said, “I bought a ring because high school is a big part of my life and I want to remember it.”
On April 20, 2009 BMC juniors united at a class ring ceremony. The student attended the ceremony to accept their class rings and to learn the tradition of the class ring ceremony. Sophomore and Student Body President, Brooke Ingram, started the ceremony with the Pledge of Allegiance. The ceremony promoted the tradition of Unity within a class. Students were asked to wait until all the juniors had received their rings and all at once the students put their rings on. Junior, Jessica Forbes, spoke on the tradition of unity within the ring ceremony. “If the rings are put on together at the same time, the class of 2010 will have the strength and unity from today to graduation, from graduation throughout life,” Forbes stated to her fellow classmates. Juniors found this tradition a good way to unite the inaugural class of BMC. Brittany Lamont said, “The ceremony was very sentimental and it was sweet how we all put our rings on at the same time.”
