Google is putting out a competition between cities around the country to obtain extremely high speed Internet access. If Greenville were to win, then this would open up more new jobs, allow companies to have the access to high speed Internet , and much more. Greenville used glow sticks to attract Google. Greenville spelled out Google with different colored glow sticks.
“Google Fiber represents a major possibility for this generation and future generation. It could open the door to industries that don’t even exist yet, by making it essentially a new integrated technology city,” said the Technology Coordinator Geoff Getty.
