I’m the Editor of BMCN this year. I’ve been in Journalism/Newspaper for 3 years. I love Journalism for many reasons. I love being able to express myself and be creative. I believe journalism is about the truth and the real story behind the rumors. I support honesty 100%. I’m a Senior this year and excited for college. My Senior Project is a Ferris Wheel. I love the water, writing, reading and exploring. I am very adventurous and I love to see new things.
My goal is to make this news site popular among the school and the community. BMCN is about the students opinions and news, and I hope to make it successful this year.

Megan Torres
Hey, I’m Megan and I’m a junior here at Brashier. I love being in journalism because I really like seeing people read and enjoy the things that I wrote. I don’t know if I would really go into it as a career, but I like being on our newspaper staff. When I graduate, I want to go to the Naval Academy and being in journalism will help me get there because they want well rounded students. After I get out of the navy, I want to be a veterinarian. I like hanging out with my friends, watch Megamind with my bffl, and playing paintball. I work at Publix on Fairview. I used to work at Red Fox Games and I really enjoyed it because I love the game. A ton of my friends and I love goin up there and playing paintball over the weekend. I’m a pretty chill person, and I LOVE superheroes.

My name is Reed Piller, and I am a sophomore at Brashier. This is my first year on the newspaper staff. I love to write, but have never done anything related to Journalism before this year. I’m Holly Moehlman, a sophomore at Brashier. I’ve been writing stories since I was eight, and hope to one day show my passion to the world by becoming an author. I plan to travel around a lot. I can’t wait to visit Japan, and I’m teaching myself Japanese. I have an older brother, Matt (17), and my four year old “baby” (golden retriever) Shanti. I’ve never written for a newspaper before, but am intrigued to attempt a new style of writing. Next year, I hope to attend the Fine Arts’ Academy.

My name is Ashlyn Ownby, and I am on the Newspaper Staff at Brashier Middle College. This is my second year in it. I love doing photo stories because it gives me the chance not only to write a short story on what the pictures are about, but it also lets me capture the moment through my eyes. I chose to be in newspaper because I like for people to see my name on cool things that I have done, and I also think that it will look good on my college applications. Not only do I love Journalism, I also love kids and working with them is a huge passion of mine. I also love being in plays and making people laugh. Michael Collins
Hey, I’m Michael Collins. I’ve been on the newspaper staff for two years now and my main purposes on the staff are taking pictures of events and keeping the moral and attitudes of my fellow journalists energetic and light-hearted. I think my favorite thing about being on the newspaper staff is being able to go around, almost anywhere, and interact with the crowd while capturing memories for everyone to go back and look at later. In my free time, which I have very little of, I enjoy taking pictures of landscapes and cityscapes. I also enjoy traveling. I’ve been traveling ever since I can remember. Swimming is also a passion of mine; I’m a lifeguard at the Brookwood YMCA and have been for about a year now. I plan on attending Greenville Tech for the Thirteenth Year program and afterwards joining the Academy up in Connecticut to become a Coastguard Rescue Swimmer. My name is Cole Sisson, and I am a junior at Brashier Middle College. This is my third year attending BMC, but my first time taking journalism. I originally signed up for Journalism 1, but was assigned to Journalism Newspaper. So far it is interesting because I am finding out more about my school and fellow students. Thomas Calamia
I’m Thomas Calamia, and I’m a reporter for the Brashier Middle College Newspaper staff. This is my second year writing for the newspaper. My main job is to write pieces for the newspaper. This ranges from short pieces like news briefs to a long stories like feature stories. I am an Eagle Scout, a gentleman and swimmer. I have been scouting ever since I was in 1st grade. I have gone through both cub scouts and boy scouts. If it weren’t for that program, I would not be the person that I am today. Also, I used to swim competitively. Writing is something that I’ve always loved to do. Creatively, this class lets me have a little more freedom than I usually do and lets me show a little more personality and individuality than I usually do in other classes where I write, like in English. In my free time, I like to play copious amounts of videogames, read a plethora of books, listen to a surfeit of indie and alternative music, and write creative stories. I am a huge geek too. If it’s a videogame, or a nerdy movie/TV show, chances are that I’ve probably at least heard of it.
