Thursday August 27 and Tuesday August 18, Brashier’s volleyball teams played against Greenville Technical Charter High School.

On Tuesday, Brashier’s Varsity team played against Greenville Tech’s Varsity team in five games.  It was the first game in the new gym. Coach Greg Kelley split up the Varsity team in to two teams, and the first team played three of the five games, while the second team played only one game. It was in the last game that Coach Kelley started mixing the two teams. Although they lost, the teams still had fun.

“Despite losing the match, we have gained new talent and have greatly improved since last year,” said Senior Sara Adkins.

Thursday’s match was the Junior Varsity team’s first scrimmage of the season. Coach Kelley also split the JV team into two teams as well. The first and second teams both played two games, and then in the last game Coach Kelley mixed the two teams together. The JV team won four of the five games they played.

“I think that the JV team has improved a lot better from when we all first started. I’m very happy that they won their very first scrimmage,” said Senior Sophie Hopkins.
