Basketball Highlights

The boys’ varsity basketball team is shining with a 5-3 game record. The crowd agrees, roaring their approval. They have played teams such as St. Matthias, Spartanburg Christian, Calvary Christian, and Simpsonville Genesis. They defeated Easley Home Educators on December 9, 2008. “It has been fun and very challenging so far and I think we are going to keep getting better as the year goes on,” said Junior Cole Davidson, a shooting guard on the boys’ varsity team.
The girls’ basketball team played very hard against Greer Middle College, one of their sister schools, on December 4, 2008. Both the girls’ basketball team and JV boys’ basketball team defeated Greer Middle College at home. The girls’ basketball team record is 2-3. “Latosha is their best player on the team” said Junior Demetrius Desnoes, a small forward on the boys’ varsity team. They played a very hard fought game against Easley Home Educators on December 9, 2008. Easley Home Educators came out victorious, but the Lady Bengals walked away with their heads high.
JV Boys are currently 1-5. They show heart and dedication in every game they play, with the help of one of their star players name Jordan Greskamp. “Jordan is making his presence known of the scoreboard,” said Davidson. They played a hard fought game against Easley Home Educators with the same ending results as the girls’ team.
