Some people at Brashier Middle College say that a New Years resolution doesn’t mean anything, others say it is to make you a better person, no matter how crazy it may be.

Zack White, a junior, says, ” the purpose of a new year’s resolution is to change something about yourself for the better.  Spanish teacher, William Pouch, states, “It is to better oneself.”

However, a lot of people say that it is very hard to stick to.  Trina Freeman, BMC assistant principle, smiles and says, “I don’t stick to my resolution very well, because of this I make the same resolution almost every year.” Betsey Treadway, a sophomore, stuck to a resolution that she made about drinking water. She says, “It’s not hard to do. Just have it with you all the time, just to make me more healthy.”

Almost everyone believes that people should have something on their list. Savanna Cook, a sophomore says, “Everyone should have something on their list. Everyone can use improvement in their lives. No one’s perfect.”

Many have heard really strange resolutions.  Craig Martin, US History Teacher, heard one from his friend. Martin states, “A good friend of mine wanted to run a marathon in 3 months…and never had training.” However, no matter how strange it may be it is what you want for yourself not what people think of you that’s important, even if you don’t keep your 2009 resolutions.
