Senior Pouch

Mr . Pouch joined the BMC family last year as the Spanish teacher and has brought so much to the table in academics, as well as a passion for foreign language. People who work with him see this fire in him everyday. Principal Mike Sinclair says, “Senior Pouch brings energy and a special spirit to our school. He recognizes the needs and interests of the students and jumps right in to help.”
Senior Pouch isn’t just a great teacher; many see him as a one of the nicest guys you’d meet. “He is a very nice guy, just an all around kind person,” says Kathy Forbes, administrative assistant. Countless others enjoy his company and recall their experiences with Mr. Pouch and the way his true “kid at heart” character heart shows everyday. “Once we were playing around with a soft toy basketball,” says Dante Awe, a sophomore, “and it accidentally hit someone in the head. Mr. Pouch started laughing with everyone else.” Nobody can resist smiling when Senior Pouch is around. Jade, a sophomore loves when Pouch exclaims, “Ahhh chicos,” when he starts to laugh.
But what made Mr. Pouch want to teach Spanish? He says, “Well I love Spanish! I wanted to teach it because I think it’s important to grow our minds in other cultures.” Relina Byrd, a sophomore, says her favorite thing to do in his class is, “learn about food and talk about it in Spanish.”
Mr. Pouch leaves many people he meets with impressions that will last a lifetime. “If I had to name one thing I like about Senior Pouch,” Ms. Brigmon, Director of Operations, says, “it would have to be his contagious positive attitude towards staff and students.” But not only does everyone love Mr. Pouch, but, he himself loves the school and students too. “I like the whole experience here, the whole atmosphere.”
