On August 13, 2009 Brashier Middle College welcomced the community into their new home. The Grand Opening Ceremony showed off the new building to all who have anxiously waited. Speakers during the opening ceremony included Denis Bega, a Senior Education Advisor for the U.S. Department of Education, Bob Howard, President of the Greenville Tech Foundation, Stuart McAllister, BMC Board Chairman, Dr. Keith Miller, President of Greenville Technical College, and Mike Sinclair, BMC Principal.
Many had high praises for BMC. During his speech Bega stated “A successful charter school…gives the students the chance to show how important education is past high school.” Howard added, “It’s a great joint use of the college and high school.”
Throughout the ceremony several people were thanked for the completion of the new state-of-the-art facility. McAllister said, “We are thankful for Triangle Construction workers, the architect, and many more.” Following the speaker, a special ribbon cutting ceremony was performed. Afterwards, students, parents, and guests toured the school. After three years of no permanent location the BMC community is thankful to all who contributed and supported the new building, proving that Sinclair’s motto, “hard work, pays off” is true.
