On Friday, May 8th, the students at Brashier Middle College were rewarded for their hard work. Each grade went to it’s own ceremony throughout the day. Each class gave out an award for the most outstanding student and some gave out most improved. The ceremony made students feel good about their hard work that they have done throughout the year. Junior Jessica Forbes stated, “I was awarded the most outstanding student in Chemistry. I was honored to receive this award because I have worked extremely hard all year in Chemistry, and it’s nice to be recognized for all I’ve done.”
Principal Mike Sinclair led the ceremony and handed out the awards. Some students who received awards were taken by surprise. Morgan Clark, a junior, won most outstanding student in Leadership. “I wasn’t expecting to win the Leadership award. I felt there were other people who also worked hard and deserved the award as well.”
Some students would like to see more awards next year. Clark said, “I wish they would have given awards to more people. It would have been nice for more people to have been recognized for their hard work in school.” Nathan Adamson, a sophomore, received a few awards. He got most outstanding student in Biology, English 2, and Algebra 2. “Next year I would like to see the awards ceremony in the gym so there is enough room for the whole school at one time,” Adamson stated. Sophomore, Taylor Kimmel, said, “I would like to see awards given out for hard work. I think the students should be able to vote on some of the awards.” The award ceremony was a nice way for students to spend time together and see they were appreciated for all the work they have done this school year.
