He’s either working on our server or fixing a teacher’s computer; hosting the Tech Club or chaperoning nationwide trips;  he’s the goateed, spikey-haired systems administrator, Geoff Getty.

Geoff joined BMC as the systems administrator and general techy person last year, and has consistently upped the ante for technology in the school. “Before he came to the school, we had only the few desktop PCs and the ones the college lets us use. Halfway through the year, he got us laptop carts,” said Calvin Davis, Junior. He also set up the BMC Tech Club,  which has done projects like Lego Mindstorms robotics, refurbishing donated computers for a preschools, and two all night gaming sessions at LFG Gaming.

“The cool thing about Tech club is it’s very informal,” said Kaitlin Holtzclaw. “Geoff will give us examples of whatever we’re talking about, and leave the rest to us.” Getty is also known for leading the Student Ambassadors to Denver, Colorado, and coming in on Halloween with glowing green irises.
