Bengal Ladies Spar With Ware Shoals

The Bengal ladies once again are suited up and ready to duel against their next opponets, but this time, according to Varsity Girls’ Coach Coen, against one of the toughest teams on the roster, Ware Shoals. Ware Shoals’s team has proven itself in the 1A leauge and is well known for being a very aggressive group of athletes. Their only loss this has been against the number one team in the division (McCormick), producing talk that the game against Brashier should be a true David and Goliath feat for Brashier. “They’re a good team,” Lady Bengal Point Guard La Tosha Hackle says,”but, with our practice and disipline, we can succeed and overcome our fears.”

Teamwork is not at all new for the ladies, but can they bring friendship and teamwork together to produce a team full of champions? Junior Rachel Gray says, “I think if we come togetheras a team, we can destroy them!”

The ladies don’t seem to mind that they are known as the underdogs, but that does not mean they at all lack confidence.  Alex Galloway, a Junior on the team says, ” [We will] play as a team, I know we can beat them, as long as we stick together.”

Practices have had a drastic change the last few weeks. “We have been working harder at practice and we encourage each other,” says Senior Chelsea Andrews. Caitlin Morri says, “We just need to gel as a team.” 

The outcome is up in the air, and supporters are on their toes to see the outcome, but what are the ladies thinking? Junior Nubia Adams laughs and says, ” We are gonna beat them down.”
