What to do, What Not to do in a Car Crash

Many people find themselves in car accidents and don’t know what to do.
There are some things y
ou should NOT do. “When people are in car accidents they panic and make things worse, or they jump out of their car and start yelling at the other driver,” said Greenville County Public Relations Police Officer. Other things that people do are a result of them not knowing what to do. Brashier Middle College Charter High School Freshmen Grayson Christian said, “I don’t know what I would do if I were in a car crash!”
Someone will hit someone else, and their car won’t be damaged, so they drive away. This is breaking the law and is called hit-and-run. Sometimes someone involved in a car crash will give false information (fake insurance card or false driver’s license), they won’t call the police, or they will point a finger and blame it all on the other person. While others will have an aggressive approach to the other driver in the car accident. BMCCHS Freshman Conner Drawdy said, “If it were their fault, I would get out of the car and beat the other person up.”
There are some good things you can do if you are in a car accident, though. “You should get out of the car, call the police, then check on the other driver, switch insurance cards, then show each other your driver’s licenses,” said Greenville County Public Relations Police Officer.
Brashier Middle College Charter High School Freshmen JC Cavin said, “I would check on the other driver to make sure they were okay.” You should also move your car from the road if it is possible and help anyone in the other car if they need help. Brashier Freshman Gloria Biggers said, “You should call the police, then apologize to the other person.”
