Pain

This life is filled with hurt,
happiness never works,
peace is a lie,
and only to be believed by the weak minded,
as long as you let useless emotion affect you,
there will be no peace; only pain,
suffering and death,
life seems pointless,
having no meaning happiness and joy a fleeting,
ideal slowly fading away,
out of our “society”
Our youth rolled out of their innocence,
“Common” curiosity can land you in jail,
Love well what can I say,
but it is a false notion,
only to enter the hearts of looks,
leading to their destruction,
what happened to me?
are my eyes open?
can I finally see?
nothing is real but pain now.

This is the best poem i’ve ever heard. If, by permission from the editor, I could e-mail this passage to my friends i will.

Pain is a way to get back at the world; to set yourself free from the restraints called life. We need pain to fit into our society; pain is the gateway to what we call existence.

well i dont really think that pain is like that. i think pain is only something that is used to make you stronger in the future.

well i dont think that pain is like that. i think that pain used to make you a stronger person in the future when the pain comes again you would be able to handle harder situations.

Reminds me of the song by 3 Days Grace, and I quote the chorus: “Pain, without love, Pain, can’t get enough, Pain, like it rough, ‘cuz I’d rather feel Pain than nothing at all…”

Ironically, I’ve heard this song play during the Physical Fitness portion of my PE class. I like the song, but hearing it play while I’m really in pain just plain pisses me off. Great poem! Very dark and broodign, but moves in quite the rhythmic fashion! 2 thumbs up! :D
