Ok for those of you who don’t know:

Kaya first showed up in Camelot during a festival and saved a man’s life using magic. Merlin saw her, and with the help of a Knight named Jason, he talked her into staying and becoming his apprentice. Kaya met King Arthur, who welcomed her to Camelot and introduched her to the people at the festival, and now we pick up just after the food is brought out.

After the food was brought out, Kaya just started at it and then looked around at the others.  Never before had she seen so much food in one place. Merlin saw her looking around, and he leaned closer to her.

“Is everything alright?”

“Yes, it’s just that I’ve never seen so much food, and normally I have to hunt for my food.”

Merlin leaned back and stared at her as she started eating, and she ate the way a lady should. Kaya saw that Merlin was watching her, she sighed and stopped,

“You know, it’s not that hard to mimic other people.”

Merlin nodded and started eating, and Kaya went back to her food.

After Kaya finished eating her food she started absent mindedly running her finger around the edge of her cup, but instead of creating little waves, her water was calm. Kaya then waved her hand over her cup and made a fist. Merlin looked over just as the water came out of the cup and floated in the air in the shape of a ball. Kaya did not notice what she was doing, but now the rest of the people in the room were watching her. Merlin put a hand on her shoulder.

“Kaya?”

Kaya blinked and her water fell to the table, getting everything wet. Kaya looked at what she had done and she sighed and sat back in her seat.

King Arthur stood up and looked out at the people.

“Be gone.”

Everyone left and soon the room was empty, save for King Arthur, Queen Guenevere, Jason Black, Merlin, Kaya, and the rest of the Knights.

Kaya got up from the table and she looked at everyone.

“I’m sorry, I don’t know what happened.”

Merlin held up his hand,

“It seems that you can unknowingly control your magic, so in the morning we will start your training, but until then you need your rest.”

Kaya nodded, and one of the servants took Kaya to her room in Merlin’s tower.

Once in her new room, Kaya went right to her bed and fell asleep. During the night she tossed and turned because of her nightmares, but when morning came she did not remember her dream.

Kaya was dressed and ready to go when Merlin came to her room to get her.

“Are you ready?”

“Yes sir, where are we going to start training at?”

“You will see.”

Kaya followed Merlin outside.

Merlin took Kaya out to the lake, and he watched as Kaya made the water take different forms. After a while, the lake started to bubble and Kaya stopped. Merlin came up beside her and put his hands on her shoulders. Soon a figure came out of the water and took the form of a lady.

“Is that the Lady of the Lake?”

“Yes, Kaya, it is.”

Kaya and Merlin watched as the Lady of the Lake came to them.

“Merlin, are you the one disturbing my lake?”

“No, it was this young one.”

Merlin looked down at Kaya and so did the Lady of the Lake. When she saw Kaya her eyes got wide and she stepped onto the land and walked over to Kaya. The Lady of the Lake bent down so that she could look into Kaya’s eyes.

“I had hoped this day would come, but it is so hard to believe this day is here, my Valerie.”

Now it was Kaya’s turn to be shocked.

“What do you mean?”

“Have you ever wondered about the meaning behind your necklace?”

Kaya nodded and looked at her necklace as the Lady of the Lake took it in her hand.

“The V stands for Valerie, your name, the crown is for your father, King Xavier, and the sword is for me, the sword from my lake that now belongs to the King of Camelot.”

“So where is my father?”

“He was killed by King Davon, his brother.”
