Girls Volleyball Season Comes to an End

After weeks of practicing and many grueling matches, the girl’s volleyball team is about to end their second year at Brashier Middle College. This year the team has expanded to varsity and junior varsity teams. Greg Kelley is the volleyball coach for the second year in a row. He said “The team is improving a lot and doing very well.”

The team practices and has their home games at Rocky Creek Baptist Church, off of Woodruff Road. Practice is very upbeat and full of energy. Varsity player Sarah Adkins had this to say “Practice is really fun, I definitely look forward to it on Tuesdays and Thursdays.” In total there are nineteen girls playing volleyball this year from 9th, 10th, and 11th grades. Sarah Adkins, Hannah Kelley, Sophie Hopkins, Jessica Stevens, Christina Sever, Abby Jones, Emily Jones, Victoria Shorkey, Chricia Makielski, Dakotah Osborn, Kaitlin Holtzclaw, Betsey Treadaway, Lauren Marshal, Perry Leigh, Leah Posley, Courtney Humbert, Valarie Lemon, and Makayla Mabbitt make up this year’s volleyball team. The teams have participated in seven matches this season and will conclude their season on Friday, October 17th in Easley.
