Energy and Evil Both Start With “E”

If you are a teenager, you have probably had an energy drink, and if you haven’t had the guts or money to buy one you’ve at least seen them in stores. “You have your Monsters, Rockstars, Your No Fears, and of course Red Bull. It’s banned in more than one country.” Said my father like an old pro. He should be. He works third shift.
As most people know, energy drinks are a source of caffeine, but how much? I don’t’ know because the caffeine content isn’t’ labeled. A study by Professor Roland Griffiths PhD of John Hopkins University found that some energy drinks have as much caffeine as 14 canned soft drinks. There needs to be some label of caffeine content. Many would argue that coffeehouses should list the caffeine content in their coffee as well.
Energy drinks aren’t’ completely safe either, nine cases of adverse reactions to redline reported nausea and vomiting, high blood pressure tremors, dizziness, and numbness. Is it really worth drinking energy drinks just to have that burst of energy? I am reminded of a story of a guy at my old school that drank too many energy drinks. His mother told him his heart could explode if he ran. I’m thinking that would ruin his day. “They are terrible! They can kill you!” Said Christina Sever, a sophomore at BMC. You are correct Christina, France banned Red Bull after 18 year old Irish athlete Ross Crooney died when playing a basketball game after drinking four red bulls. Red bull can increase the risk of heart attack or stroke even in young people. Red Bull’s slogan is “Red Bull gives you wiiiiings.” Well I tried a Red Bull and I did not get wings. If they lie about that who knows what else they could be lying about? I bet the drink isn’t’ even made out of red bulls either. Those tricksters!!
I think these drinks should not be sold at out school. If a drink has to have a warning label, it probably shouldn’t’ be consumed by students at school. Besides, some kids need to calm down as it is.

I wrote this article over a year ago. I would like to point out that while I wrote the article, my version did not include all of these typos. After I wrote the article, I handed a copy to a journalism student (whose name rhymes with Hen Ross haha) and he copied it down.
I doubt anyone will see the above as it’s buried in the archives. Just in case, I thought would let it be known. I would hate think my silly article’s serious message was reduced because of some grammar mistakes.
Wow. That actually bothered me enough that I wrote all that over a year later. Keep away from the energy drinks, ladies and gentleman.
